How it works

How to use AVIF to JPG

Choose your AVIF images

Select up to 20 AVIF files or try the sample. Renaming another format to .avif will not convert it.

Choose JPG quality and background

Use a higher quality for fine details or lower it for a smaller file. Transparent areas are filled with your chosen colour because JPG has no transparency.

Convert and check your downloads

Convert the batch, review the size and dimensions of each result, then download individual JPGs or the ZIP. A failed file does not stop the rest of the batch.

FAQ

Good to know

How do I use AVIF to JPG?

1. Choose your AVIF images: Select up to 20 AVIF files or try the sample. Renaming another format to .avif will not convert it. 2. Choose JPG quality and background: Use a higher quality for fine details or lower it for a smaller file. Transparent areas are filled with your chosen colour because JPG has no transparency. 3. Convert and check your downloads: Convert the batch, review the size and dimensions of each result, then download individual JPGs or the ZIP. A failed file does not stop the rest of the batch.

Will converting AVIF to JPG improve image quality?

No. Conversion does not restore missing detail. JPG adds lossy compression, and the result can be larger than the AVIF. Compare the downloaded image with your original.

Are transparency, animation and HDR preserved?

No. JPG is a still image with a solid background. This tool exports one decoded frame and does not preserve original metadata, HDR or animation. Keep your AVIF originals if those features matter.

Why will my AVIF not open?

Decoding depends on your browser and the AVIF file. Try a current Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari. Damaged files, unsupported variants and images above 40 megapixels cannot be exported here.

Are photos uploaded for conversion?

No. Your browser processes the selected files locally. Each batch supports 20 files, up to 25 MiB each and 100 MiB in total. Download results before leaving the page.
