Does this tool store my JSON?

The tool formats the JSON you submit in order to return a result, and it is not kept as a document. For secrets or production data, prefer a formatter that runs entirely on your machine.

What is the difference between pretty-print and minify?

Pretty-printing adds indentation and line breaks for humans. Minifying removes whitespace to reduce payload size for machines.

Why does it say my JSON is invalid?

The message comes from the JSON parser and usually points at a trailing comma, an unquoted key, or a missing bracket. Fix the reported location and run it again.
