Frequently asked questions

How do I use PDF to Excel?

1. Choose your PDF: Select a PDF with selectable text or bordered tables. Unlock a password-protected PDF first. 2. Convert: Each bordered table becomes its own sheet. A page with no table becomes one row per line. 3. Download the XLSX: Open it in Excel, Google Sheets or LibreOffice Calc and edit, sort or sum the cells.

Is PDF to Excel free?

Yes, completely free with no sign-up, no watermark and no daily limit.

What happens to my file?

Your file is sent over an encrypted connection, converted in a private temporary folder on our server and deleted as soon as the result is sent back to you. We never keep or look at your documents.

Will every word be copied?

Bordered tables become cells. On a page with no table, each line of text becomes a row. A heading that sits outside a table on the same page is not copied.

Can it read a scanned PDF?

No. A scan is a picture, so there is no text to extract. Use Image to Text on those pages first.

What is the maximum file size?

Up to 50 MB and 100 pages. Split a longer PDF first.
