Frequently asked questions
How do I use Scientific Calculator?
1. Choose degrees or radians: Pick the angle unit for sin, cos and tan before you start. 2. Type or tap your calculation: Use the keypad or type directly, for example 2 × (3 + 4)^2 or sin(30). The result appears as you type. 3. Press = for the answer: Press = or Enter to keep the result. It goes into the history, and Ans reuses it in the next calculation.
Which functions are available?
Sine, cosine and tangent and their inverses, hyperbolic functions, ln, log base 10, log2, square and cube roots, powers, factorials, percentages, π and e.
In what order are operations calculated?
Brackets first, then powers and factorials, then multiplication and division, then addition and subtraction. Powers are worked out from right to left, so 2^3^2 is 2^9.
Why does tan(90) show an error in degrees?
The tangent of 90° is infinite, so it has no value. In degrees, sin, cos and tan of multiples of 90° are exact, without rounding noise.
Is anything sent to a server?
No. Every calculation runs in your browser.
