Frequently asked questions

How do I use Built With Analyzer?

1. Copy the page source: Open the site in your browser, view its HTML source and copy it. 2. Paste it into Paste HTML: Paste the markup into the Paste HTML box; the tool does not visit the site itself. 3. Review the hints: Press Run Built With Analyzer to see which known markers were found, or a note that none matched.

Which technologies can it detect?

About 25 common ones, including WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, Shopify, Wix, Squarespace, Webflow, Next.js, React, Vue.js, Angular, jQuery, Bootstrap, Tailwind CSS, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and Cloudflare. Versions are shown when the markup includes them, along with the generator tag.

How reliable are the results?

Each hit is based on a specific marker, such as a wp-content path or a versioned script file, so plain mentions of a name in the text do not count. Sites can hide or remove these markers, so treat the list as evidence to verify, not proof.

Does it look at HTTP headers or the live site?

No. It reads only the HTML you paste. Server headers, cookies and scripts loaded later are not examined, so a technology is missed if it leaves no trace in the markup.

What happens to the HTML I paste?

It is sent to the GigaTools server, searched for the markers during that request and returned as a private result. No website is contacted and the tool does not save your HTML.
