Frequently asked questions

How do I use Nobel Prize Browser?

1. Choose a Year: Enter a year from 1901 to 2026, or leave the optional field empty to see the most recent prizes. 2. Pick a Category: Select Physics, Chemistry, Medicine, Literature, Peace or Economic Sciences, or keep All categories. 3. Pass the check and run: Complete the security check if one appears and press Run Nobel Prize Browser. Each row lists the year, category and laureates.

Where does the data come from?

From the official Nobel Prize API at api.nobelprize.org. The GigaTools server queries it when you run the tool.

How many results are shown?

Up to 25 prizes, newest first. Pick a year or category to reach older entries.

What does Not awarded mean in a row?

It appears when the API lists no laureates for that prize. Organisations, such as Peace Prize winners, are shown by their organisation name.

What is sent to the Nobel Prize API?

Only the year and category you chose. They go to the GigaTools server, which forwards them to the API; your browser does not contact it directly. Because the tool calls an external service, it has a security check.
