How do I use Remove Duplicate Lines?

Which copy of a repeated line is kept?
The first one. Later repeats are dropped, and the remaining lines keep their original order unless you tick Sort the result, which orders them A to Z, ignoring case, with numbers in natural order.
Do spaces at the start or end of a line matter?
No. Lines are compared without leading and trailing spaces, so “apple” and “ apple ” count as duplicates. Spaces inside a line still count.
What happens to empty lines?
Blank lines are never treated as duplicates, so all of them stay in the output.
Is my list stored?
The list is sent over HTTPS to the GigaTools server, deduplicated for that request and returned to you. The tool does not save it.
