Frequently asked questions
How do I use SERP Snippet Preview?
1. Enter title and URL: Type the Page title and the full Page URL you plan to publish. 2. Add the meta description: Paste your draft into Meta description. 3. Check the preview and lengths: Run the preview, read the sample result and shorten any text flagged as likely to truncate.
Is this exactly how Google will show my page?
No. It is a simplified sample result. Google often rewrites titles and descriptions, adds a site name and favicon, and adapts the layout by device.
How are truncation warnings decided?
The tool counts characters and warns above 60 for the title and 160 for the description. Google actually cuts snippets by pixel width, so wide letters, capitals and some languages can truncate sooner and narrow text can fit more.
How is the URL line built?
It shows the domain followed by the path segments separated by arrows, similar to the breadcrumb style in results. Query strings are not shown and nothing is checked on the live page.
Is my text sent anywhere?
The title, URL and description are sent to the GigaTools server, which builds the preview and returns it. The URL is not fetched and nothing is passed to Google.
