What happens to spaces and punctuation?
Every run of spaces, punctuation or symbols becomes a single hyphen, and hyphens at the start and end are removed. An apostrophe becomes a hyphen too, so don’t turns into don-t.
Are accented letters converted to plain ASCII?
No. Letters such as é, ñ or ü are kept in lowercase rather than transliterated, so Café Olé becomes café-olé. Edit the result by hand if your site needs ASCII-only URLs.
Does it remove words such as a or the?
No. Every word and number stays in its original order; only the separators and the letter case change.
Is my title sent anywhere?
Yes, to the GigaTools server over HTTPS, where the slug is created and sent back to you. The tool does not save the text.
