Frequently asked questions

How do I use Website Setup Signals?

1. Enter the site address: Paste a full address such as https://example.com into the Public URL field. 2. Run the setup checks: The GigaTools server resolves DNS, sends a HEAD request, loads the page and requests /robots.txt and /sitemap.xml on the same host. 3. Fix what is missing: Read the passed count and the table, add any missing title, meta description, robots.txt or sitemap, then run the checks again.

Is this a MozRank checker?

No. MozRank is a Moz link metric, and GigaTools has no access to Moz or any link index. This tool checks basic website setup signals; it does not score link authority or predict rankings.

Which checks are included?

Six: DNS resolves to an IPv4 address, the site answers a HEAD request, a title tag, a meta description, a robots.txt file and a sitemap.xml file. Response time is shown and flagged at 1.5 seconds or more, but it is not counted in the score.

Why is my sitemap reported as not found?

Only https://your-host/sitemap.xml is requested. A sitemap at another path, such as sitemap_index.xml, or one listed only in robots.txt is not detected. Error responses also count as not found.

What is sent where?

The address goes to the GigaTools server, which contacts the site directly for DNS, the page, robots.txt and sitemap.xml. Runs pass a security check and count toward a daily per-IP limit, and the result is not saved.
